Our History

Open in the spring of 2005, River’s Bend is a family owned and operated boutique winery located on 30 acres of pastoral farmland alongside the winding banks of the Serpentine River in South Surrey, BC. Planted in 1992 in a gem of a microclimate, the winery’s 15-acre vineyard yields many grape varieties. The grapes are grown using natural farming methods, the wines gently handcrafted and bottled at the their peak to preserve their delicate aroma and flavour.

A Horse Named Black

River's Bend's founder Court Faessler still lives on the winery property and can often be found in the horse paddock practicing routines with his beloved horse Black.  Black is the mascot of the winery and his likeness can be found on the Black Horse bottle.  When Black isn't wowing the crowds with his talents he can be found ambling around the property with his stable mate Sunday.  If you're coming for a visit stop by and say hello, they love a good pat but it helps if you bring some apples.
